Garden of the gods

Garden of the Gods is a Colorado Springs park. It may be one of the most famous and visited city parks in the United States. The history of Colorado Springs climbing and the history of climbing itself is deeply connected to the towering sandstone formations.

The climbing is nearly entirely trad, or what might be called adventure sport, and it is all sandstone. Sandstone can be fragile, especially when wet. Wait a few days after rain before climbing on sandstone. While the Garden is a beautiful and historically significant place to climb it is also a highly developed tourist destination. Over 2 million visitors a year enjoy the park. You will not be alone. Since it is a city park it has more regulations than other areas in town. Please see the link below and follow all regulations.
