Red Rock Canyon Open Space

Red Rock Canyon Open Space is a city owned property funded by the TOPS program. It lies south of Garden of the Gods and consists of the same sandstone. The climbing is almost entirely sport routes with anchors for lowering and rappelling. The east and west walls have climbs but climbing is not allowed on all the formations.

As all the formations are sandstone care should be taken after any precipitation. It’s best to allow the rock to dry for several days before returning to climb.

Bolting and re-bolting in the park is managed with an agreement between the city and Pikes Peak Climbers Alliance. Any bolting requirements should be addressed with the PPCA.
